Does screen time affect kid’s mental performance?

A new study published in the Lancet Child & Adolescent Health journal says that children ages 8 to 11 who’s screen time is restricted to under 2 hours per day perform better on certain cognitive tests. Kids did better in their thinking, language, and memory.  The Washington Post has an article summarizing the findings.
