Mobile Working & Telecommuting Effectively

If you’re working away from the office, you don’t want your technology to get in the way. Maybe you tried telecommuting but didn’t feel you were as productive as you wanted to be. At Chimbly Consultants, we frequently work from everywhere but the office, and have figured out some ways to maximize productivity.

Mobile offices can be a productive and effective way to work. With the right tools in place you will have secure access to important files and communications while working anywhere with an internet connection.  Here are some things to consider:

Use a remote desktop application to access files on your office or home computer

Use a second monitor, or if you’re working out of coffee shops frequently, use a portable second monitor.

Have reliable and secure wireless network wherever you set up your mobile office

Use a VPN to connect to your office or home network and secure your internet history

Use a reliable teleconferencing system to have remote meetings

Go paperless to have your records with you wherever you are

Use the Hotspot feature built into your cell phone when the internet is poor or unavailable.

Use a virtual phone number and virtual fax line that you can take anywhere

Use your smartphone and secure apps that sync with the cloud to stay connected when you’re on the go

Are you interested in getting some of the listed items set up for you or your team? We are ready to assist if you are ready to transition to an office and mobile office working space. Give us a call today at 773.377.8455 to get started.

Tip of the Month

2-Factor Authentication (2FA)

2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are. This additional layer of protection helps protect your sensitive, personal data, from potential hackers. 2FA verifies your identity when you log into an account, most often by sending you a text with a 6-digit code. We strongly recommend you use 2FA to keep your accounts safe and protected. Read more about it and call us if you’d like help setting it up.
